By rail it is the Northern line from Archway into central London and then the Elizabeth line or Piccadilly line out to Heathrow, a long trip with a change.
By car the driver heads up the Archway Road to the North Circular, west to the A40 and out to the airport, never going into central London.
By public transport: Northern line into central London, then the Elizabeth line to Heathrow, about 65–80 min. The catch is a change in central London with luggage. A car does the whole trip door to door in about 50 min, or 80 min when the roads are full, with your bags in the boot.
Out of Archway (N19) the route runs up the Archway Road to the North Circular, west to the A40 and on to the A312 and Heathrow. Coming back from Heathrow the driver follows the A312 and A40, the North Circular and the Archway Road back to N19. That is about 20 miles: reckon 50 min off-peak and 80 min when the North Circular between Finchley and Hanger Lane is busy.
