By rail it is the District or Hammersmith & City line from Bow Road to Whitechapel and then the Elizabeth line to Heathrow. It is a long trip, with a change at a busy interchange.
By car the driver heads west along the Mile End Road, crosses the City and takes the Euston and Marylebone Roads to the Westway and out to the airport.
By public transport: District or Hammersmith & City line to Whitechapel, then the Elizabeth line to Heathrow, about 65–80 min. The catch is a change at Whitechapel with luggage. A car does the whole trip door to door in about 55 min, or 85 min when the roads are full, with your bags in the boot.
Out of Bow (E3) the route runs west along the Mile End Road, through the City to the Euston and Marylebone Roads, then the Westway to Heathrow. Coming back from Heathrow the driver follows the Westway, the Marylebone and Euston Roads and the City back to Bow. That is about 21 miles: reckon 55 min off-peak and 85 min when the City and the Euston Road is busy.
