From Notting Hill Gate you can take the Circle line to Paddington for the Heathrow Express or the Elizabeth line. Both are quick trains, but Paddington is a busy interchange, and the Heathrow Express is priced for one traveller rather than a family.
By car the driver heads down Holland Park Avenue to Shepherd's Bush and follows the A4 onto the M4. Your cases go in the boot at the door and come out at departures.
By public transport: Circle line to Paddington, then the Heathrow Express or Elizabeth line, about 40–55 min. The catch is a change at Paddington and the Heathrow Express fare per person. A car does the whole trip door to door in about 35 min, or 60 min when the roads are full, with your bags in the boot.
Out of Notting Hill (W11) the route runs west along Holland Park Avenue to Shepherd's Bush, then the A4 and M4. Coming back from Heathrow the driver follows the M4 and A4 east to Shepherd's Bush and Holland Park Avenue. That is about 13 miles: reckon 35 min off-peak and 60 min when Shepherd's Bush roundabout and the Hogarth Roundabout is busy.

Notting Hill spreads north from Notting Hill Gate through the pastel terraces around Portobello Road to Ladbroke Grove and Westbourne Park. There are many small boutique hotels on Pembridge Square and Pembridge Gardens, and plenty of family homes on the garden squares.
Portobello Road and Westbourne Grove are narrow and busy, especially on Saturdays when the market is on. We agree a pickup point on a side street if your front door is on a market street.
