By public transport: Elizabeth line to Liverpool Street, then the Stansted Express, about 85–100 min. The catch is going into London and back out. A car does the whole trip door to door in about 30 min, or 50 min when the roads are full, with your bags in the boot.
Out of Romford (RM1 / RM7) the route runs onto the M25 and up the M11 to the airport. Coming back from Stansted the driver follows the M11 and the M25 back to Romford. That is about 25 miles: reckon 30 min off-peak and 50 min when the M25 to M11 junction is busy.
