The driver either takes the A406 North Circular west to the A40 and M4, or heads up the M11 to the M25 and round the north side. The choice depends on live traffic.
By Tube it is the Central line into central London and then the Elizabeth or Piccadilly line out west, which is a long trip with luggage.
By public transport: Tube/Overground from Woodford or South Woodford (Central line), changing to the Elizabeth line or Piccadilly line, about 75–110 min. The catch is at least one change, stairs and crowded trains with luggage. A car does the whole trip door to door in about 60 min, or 95 min when the roads are full, with your bags in the boot.
Out of Woodford (IG8 / E18) the route runs the A406 west to the A40 and M4, or the M11 and M25 round the north. Coming back from Heathrow the driver follows M4 and A40 east, then the A406 to Woodford. That is about 30 miles: reckon 60 min off-peak and 95 min when the A406 around its full length is busy.

Heathrow is the longest regular run from Woodford, so allow the full 95 minutes on weekday mornings. For El Al and BA flights to Tel Aviv, add about three hours at the airport.
