The driver follows the Embankment through Westminster and the City, heads up the A12 to the North Circular and joins the M11. It avoids the Euston Road and stays on wide roads for most of the way.
By rail it is the Circle or District line from Victoria or Sloane Square to Liverpool Street, then the Stansted Express.

Out of Belgravia (SW1X / SW1W) the route runs along the Embankment and through the City to the A12, then the North Circular and M11. Coming back from Stansted the driver follows the M11 and A12, then through the City and along the Embankment to SW1. That is about 40 miles: reckon 70 min off-peak and 105 min when the Embankment, the City and the A12 is busy.
