Victoria station, with the Gatwick Express, is a short walk from much of Belgravia. It is a good option for one person with a small bag. With suitcases, the walk and the crowded concourse make it harder than it looks on a map.
By car the driver crosses at Chelsea or Vauxhall Bridge, goes through Clapham and joins the A23 and M23.
By public transport: Walk to Victoria, then the Gatwick Express, about 40–55 min. The catch is the walk to Victoria and its crowded concourse with luggage. A car does the whole trip door to door in about 60 min, or 95 min when the roads are full, with your bags in the boot.
Out of Belgravia (SW1X / SW1W) the route runs over Chelsea or Vauxhall Bridge, through Clapham and down the A23 to the M23. Coming back from Gatwick the driver follows the M23 and A23 north, then Vauxhall Bridge back to Belgravia. That is about 26 miles: reckon 60 min off-peak and 95 min when Vauxhall and Streatham is busy.
