By car the driver heads south on the A217 through Woodhatch and Sidlow Bridge to the airport.
By rail the North Downs line runs direct from Reigate to Gatwick Airport, via Redhill, in about 20 minutes.
By public transport: North Downs line from Reigate direct to Gatwick, about 20–30 min. The catch is trains only once an hour or so. A car does the whole trip door to door in about 15 min, or 25 min when the roads are full, with your bags in the boot.
Out of Reigate (RH2) the route runs south on the A217 through Woodhatch and Sidlow Bridge to the airport. Coming back from Gatwick the driver follows the A217 back up through Sidlow and Woodhatch. That is about 9 miles: reckon 15 min off-peak and 25 min when the A217 at Sidlow is busy.
