By public transport: Train via Guildford on the North Downs line, about 70–90 min. The catch is a change with luggage. A car does the whole trip door to door in about 40 min, or 65 min when the roads are full, with your bags in the boot.
Out of Woking (GU21 / GU22) the route runs east along the M25 from junction 11 to junction 7, then down the M23. Coming back from Gatwick the driver follows the M23 and the M25 back to junction 11 and Woking. That is about 33 miles: reckon 40 min off-peak and 65 min when the M25 around the A3 at Wisley is busy.
