By car the driver heads south on the M11 to the North Circular, then down to the A13 and Silvertown.

By public transport: Train to Liverpool Street, then the Tube to Bank and the DLR, about 70–90 min. The catch is at least one change with bags, and early flights before the first train. A car does the whole trip door to door in about 35 min, or 55 min when the roads are full, with your bags in the boot.

Coming back from London City the driver follows the A13, the North Circular and the M11 back to Epping. That is about 18 miles: reckon 35 min off-peak and 55 min when the North Circular is busy.
