By rail you would go Aldgate (Circle and Metropolitan) across to Kensington (Olympia) (District and the Overground), then a 2-minute walk at the far end. The catch is that the District service to Olympia is sparse outside event days. A car does the whole thing door to door in about 25 min, or 45 min when the roads are full - and it does it with your bags in the boot. If you are travelling light and early, the train usually wins on price. If you are in a group, carrying anything, or leaving after an event, the car wins on everything else.
