The public-transport version starts at Barking (District, Hammersmith & City and c2c) and finishes at Watford Junction (London Overground and National Rail), with a connecting bus at the far end. The catch is that the shuttle bus from the station only runs to tour times, so one missed connection is a missed slot. The taxi is about 1h, or 1h 25m when the roads are full, but it is one journey rather than three, and nobody stands up for any of it. If you are travelling light and early, the train usually wins on price. If you are in a group, carrying anything, or leaving after an event, the car wins on everything else.
