By rail you would go Barking (District, Hammersmith & City and c2c) across to Wembley Park (Metropolitan and Jubilee), then a 12-minute walk at the far end. The catch is that Olympic Way is queue-managed after full time and the walk is uphill. A car does the whole thing door to door in about 50 min, or 1h 20m when the roads are full - and it does it with your bags in the boot. If you are travelling light and early, the train usually wins on price. If you are in a group, carrying anything, or leaving after an event, the car wins on everything else.
From the IG11, RM8, RM9, RM10 streets the route runs via the A13 then the A406, finishing on A406 North Circular, then Harrow Road and South Way. About 24.3 miles in all - 50 min when it flows, 1h 20m when it does not.
We cover the whole of Barking & Dagenham - IG11, RM8, RM9, RM10 - including the streets where flagging something down is a matter of luck rather than timing.
Green Car Park off South Way is the usual private hire point; on full-house events pickup moves to Rutherford Way or Fifth Way. Olympic Way (Wembley Way) is pedestrianised for two hours after full time, so allow for a short walk to the car. Your driver sends the exact standing point and the registration before they set off, so you are not circling a car park looking for a number plate.
Address: Wembley Stadium, Wembley Park, HA9 0WS.
If you were thinking of driving yourself: Wembley Stadium sits inside a matchday or event-day controlled parking zone, on-site spaces are pre-book only and go early, and the residential streets around it are permit-holders only with active enforcement. Being dropped at the door and collected at an agreed point removes the whole problem.
Doors are usually an hour before the match. Working back, that means leaving Barking & Dagenham around 1h 20m plus that hour on a busy night - and booking the return at the same time, because the road out is slower than the road in.
£110 in a saloon, £140 in a 6-seat MPV and £155 in an 8-seater. That is the fixed price, agreed at booking.
Door to door the car is about 50 min off-peak. The rail alternative is Barking to Wembley Park plus the walk, which is competitive going out and considerably slower coming back.
Green Car Park off South Way is the usual private hire point; on full-house events pickup moves to Rutherford Way or Fifth Way. You get the exact point and the registration by text beforehand.
Yes, and it is the leg worth booking. The driver is in position before you come out instead of you joining the queue that forms the moment it ends.
No. The fare is fixed when you book. Traffic, tolls and the hour are our problem, not a line on your bill.
Card, bank transfer or a business account, before or after the journey. A VAT receipt is issued either way.
The driver waits. We watch venue finish times rather than working to a fixed clock, so a late curtain does not leave you stranded or cost you extra.
Fares are fixed at booking and shown per vehicle. Distances and journey times are approximate and vary with traffic and the exact pickup address. Page reviewed 7 September 2026.
