Taxi or train from Borough?

By rail you would go Borough (the Northern line) across to Fulham Broadway (the District line), then a 8-minute walk at the far end. The catch is that the station is one-in-one-out after big games. The taxi is about 25 min, or 40 min when the roads are full, but it is one journey rather than three, and nobody stands up for any of it. If you are travelling light and early, the train usually wins on price. If you are in a group, carrying anything, or leaving after an event, the car wins on everything else.

The route

The usual line from Borough is the A3 then the A100, then A4 Talgarth Road, then Fulham Road at the end. Roughly 6 miles, and the timing swings with the hour rather than the route: 25 min clear, 40 min loaded.

Borough is dense, one-way and camera-enforced. The driver texts a workable standing point in SE1 instead of guessing, which is the difference between a two-minute wait and a fine.

Where the driver waits at Stamford Bridge

Britannia Road or the Chelsea Farmers Market end of the King's Road, clear of the Fulham Road closure.
