The driver follows the Embankment through Westminster and the City, heads up the A12 to the North Circular and joins the M11 at the top of the A406. It avoids the Euston Road and keeps to the river for much of central London.
The rail alternative is the District or Circle line from Sloane Square to Liverpool Street and then the Stansted Express. It is one Tube line, but a long ride, and Liverpool Street's Stansted platforms are a walk with cases.
