From Upper Clapton the driver takes Lea Bridge Road east, joins the A406 and follows the M11 north to junction 8. It is one of the simplest airport routes in London.
The Stansted Express runs from Tottenham Hale and Liverpool Street. From Clapton that means a bus or the Overground first, with luggage.
By public transport: Stansted Express from Tottenham Hale, about 55–80 min door to gate. The catch is a trip to Tottenham Hale first, and walk-up fares add up for a family. A car does the whole trip door to door in about 45 min, or 65 min when the roads are full, with your bags in the boot.
Out of Clapton (E5) the route runs along Lea Bridge Road to the A406 and straight up the M11. Coming back from Stansted the driver follows M11 south, A406 and Lea Bridge Road into E5. That is about 32 miles: reckon 45 min off-peak and 65 min when the A406 at Waterworks Corner is busy.
Stansted has one terminal. Your driver meets you in the arrivals hall with a name board once you have cleared baggage reclaim.

Lea Bridge Road and Waterworks Corner can be slow at school-run times. Allow two hours at Stansted for Europe and about three for Israel-bound flights.
