Cockfosters and Heathrow sit at opposite ends of the Piccadilly line, so the Tube runs direct, but it takes well over an hour and a half.

By public transport: Piccadilly line direct from Cockfosters to Heathrow, about 95–110 min. The catch is a very long Tube ride with luggage. A car does the whole trip door to door in about 45 min, or 80 min when the roads are full, with your bags in the boot.
Out of Cockfosters (EN4) the route runs out to the M25 at junction 24 and round it west to the airport, or along the North Circular when the M25 is slow. Coming back from Heathrow the driver follows the M25, or the North Circular, back to Cockfosters. That is about 27 miles: reckon 45 min off-peak and 80 min when the M25 between the M1 and the M40 is busy.
