By car the driver heads east through Sunningdale and Virginia Water to the A30, then over the M25 to the airport.
By rail it is about 60 minutes from Ascot to London Waterloo, then the Bakerloo line to Paddington and the Heathrow Express.
By public transport: Train to Waterloo, then the Bakerloo line to Paddington and the Heathrow Express, about 105–125 min. The catch is the change in London and the walk with luggage. A car does the whole trip door to door in about 20 min, or 35 min when the roads are full, with your bags in the boot.
Out of Ascot (SL5) the route runs east through Sunningdale and Virginia Water to the A30, then over the M25 to the airport. Coming back from Heathrow the driver follows the A30 and Sunningdale back to Ascot. That is about 13 miles: reckon 20 min off-peak and 35 min when the A30 at Egham is busy.
