A car does the whole trip door to door in about 40 min, or 60 min when the roads are full, with your bags in the boot.
Out of Hatfield (AL9 / AL10) the route runs down the A1(M) to the M25 at junction 23 and anticlockwise to junction 14. Coming back from Heathrow the driver follows the M25 and the A1(M) back to Hatfield. That is about 32 miles: reckon 40 min off-peak and 60 min when the M25 between the A1(M) and the M4 is busy.
