Out of Stevenage (SG1 / SG2) the route runs down the A1(M) to the M25 at junction 23 and anticlockwise to junction 14. Coming back from Heathrow the driver follows the M25 and the A1(M) back to Stevenage. That is about 45 miles: reckon 50 min off-peak and 75 min when the M25 between the A1(M) and the M4 is busy.
