By rail it is the Piccadilly line to King's Cross St Pancras and then Thameslink direct to Gatwick.

By public transport: Piccadilly line to King's Cross, then Thameslink from St Pancras to Gatwick, about 60–75 min. The catch is a long walk at King's Cross St Pancras. A car does the whole trip door to door in about 75 min, or 110 min when the roads are full, with your bags in the boot.
Out of Holloway (N7) the route runs south through King's Cross and Holborn, over Blackfriars Bridge and down the A23 to the M23. Coming back from Gatwick the driver follows the M23 and A23 north, Blackfriars Bridge, Holborn and King's Cross back to Holloway. That is about 32 miles: reckon 75 min off-peak and 110 min when King's Cross, Holborn and Streatham is busy.

Holloway runs along the busy Holloway Road from Highbury Corner to Archway, with the Nag's Head shopping area, London Metropolitan University, the Emirates Stadium to the east and residential streets around Caledonian Road and Camden Road.
