The Elizabeth line from Canary Wharf, a short walk away, crosses central London towards Heathrow. It is quick for one traveller, though you may need to change depending on the train.
By car the driver heads through the Limehouse Link and the City, along the Euston and Marylebone Roads and out on the Westway.
By public transport: Walk to Canary Wharf, then the Elizabeth line to Heathrow, about 55–70 min. The catch is the walk to Canary Wharf and a possible change with luggage. A car does the whole trip door to door in about 60 min, or 90 min when the roads are full, with your bags in the boot.
Out of Poplar (E14) the route runs through the Limehouse Link and the City to the Euston and Marylebone Roads, then the Westway. Coming back from Heathrow the driver follows the Westway, the Marylebone and Euston Roads and the Limehouse Link back to Poplar. That is about 22 miles: reckon 60 min off-peak and 90 min when the City and the Euston Road is busy.
