By car the driver heads down the North Circular to Hanger Lane, then west on the A40 and down the A312 to the airport, without going into central London.
By rail it is the Jubilee line from Wembley Park to Bond Street and then the Elizabeth line to Heathrow, which means going all the way into town and back out.
By public transport: Jubilee line to Bond Street, then the Elizabeth line to Heathrow, about 65–80 min. The catch is going into central London and back out with luggage. A car does the whole trip door to door in about 30 min, or 55 min when the roads are full, with your bags in the boot.
Out of Wembley (HA9 / HA0) the route runs down the North Circular to Hanger Lane, then west on the A40 and the A312 to the airport. Coming back from Heathrow the driver follows the A312, the A40 and Hanger Lane back up to Wembley. That is about 13 miles: reckon 30 min off-peak and 55 min when Hanger Lane is busy.
