The driver follows the North Circular to Staples Corner and goes straight up the M1, one of the simplest airport runs in London.
By rail it is the Metropolitan or Jubilee line into central London, Thameslink from St Pancras to Luton Airport Parkway and then the DART.
By public transport: Metropolitan line to King's Cross St Pancras, Thameslink to Luton Airport Parkway, then the DART, about 70–85 min. The catch is going into town first and three legs with luggage. A car does the whole trip door to door in about 35 min, or 60 min when the roads are full, with your bags in the boot.
Out of Wembley (HA9 / HA0) the route runs along the North Circular to Staples Corner and straight up the M1. Coming back from Luton the driver follows the M1 to Staples Corner and back along the North Circular to Wembley. That is about 25 miles: reckon 35 min off-peak and 60 min when Staples Corner is busy.
Luton has one terminal. Your driver meets you in the arrivals hall with a name board, so there is no DART shuttle or bus to work out.

Staples Corner is the only real slow point. For flights with extra security checks, allow around three hours at Luton.
