Kilburn sits on the Edgware Road, so the driver simply heads north to Staples Corner and takes the M1 to the airport.
By rail it is the Jubilee line one stop to West Hampstead, a short walk to West Hampstead Thameslink and a train to Luton Airport Parkway, then the DART.

A car does the whole trip door to door in about 40 min, or 70 min when the roads are full, with your bags in the boot.
Out of Kilburn (NW6) the route runs straight up the Edgware Road to Staples Corner and onto the M1. Coming back from Luton the driver follows the M1 to Staples Corner and down the Edgware Road to Kilburn. That is about 28 miles: reckon 40 min off-peak and 70 min when the Edgware Road and Staples Corner is busy.

Kilburn grows up along Kilburn High Road, the old Watling Street, with the Kiln Theatre and the Gaumont State building, the Victorian terraces of Brondesbury and South Kilburn, and the streets towards Queen's Park and West Hampstead.
