The driver follows the North Circular to Staples Corner and heads straight up the M1, one of the quickest airport runs in north-west London.
By rail it is the Jubilee line to West Hampstead, a short walk to the Thameslink station and a train to Luton Airport Parkway, then the DART.
By public transport: Jubilee line to West Hampstead, Thameslink to Luton Airport Parkway, then the DART, about 55–70 min. The catch is a walk between stations and the DART. A car does the whole trip door to door in about 30 min, or 55 min when the roads are full, with your bags in the boot.
Out of Neasden (NW10) the route runs along the North Circular to Staples Corner and straight up the M1. Coming back from Luton the driver follows the M1 and Staples Corner back along the North Circular to NW10. That is about 24 miles: reckon 30 min off-peak and 55 min when Staples Corner is busy.

Neasden is best known for the BAPS Shri Swaminarayan Mandir, with the Jubilee line station and Neasden Lane at its centre, Gladstone Park and Dollis Hill to the south-east and the Welsh Harp reservoir to the north.
