Out of Southall (UB1 / UB2) the route runs up the A312 to the A40, round the North Circular to Staples Corner and up the M1. Coming back from Luton the driver follows the M1, the North Circular and the A40 back to Southall. That is about 30 miles: reckon 40 min off-peak and 65 min when Hanger Lane and Staples Corner is busy.
