King's Cross St Pancras is one stop from Angel on the Northern line, and Thameslink runs from there to Luton Airport Parkway, with the DART shuttle to the terminal.

Out of Angel (N1) the route runs north up the A1 through Holloway and Archway, then the North Circular to the M1. Angel is the busy southern end of Islington, where Upper Street, Islington High Street and Pentonville Road meet. It is full of Georgian terraces, converted warehouses along the Regent's Canal, restaurants on Upper Street and theatres like Sadler's Wells and the Almeida.
