The driver follows the Highway east and drops through the Limehouse Link to Silvertown, a short run with no central London driving.
By rail it is a short walk to Shadwell, where the DLR runs direct to London City Airport.
By public transport: Walk to Shadwell, then the DLR direct to London City Airport, about 25–35 min. The catch is the walk to Shadwell and station stairs. A car does the whole trip door to door in about 15 min, or 30 min when the roads are full, with your bags in the boot.
Out of Wapping (E1W) the route runs along the Highway and through the Limehouse Link to Silvertown. Coming back from London City the driver follows the A13 and Limehouse Link, then the Highway back to Wapping. That is about 6 miles: reckon 15 min off-peak and 30 min when the Highway and the Limehouse Link is busy.
London City is small and quick. Your driver meets you just outside arrivals with a name board, usually within minutes of you leaving the aircraft.
London City is quick to leave. Your driver waits just outside arrivals, and you can be home within half an hour.
London City only needs you there about an hour before most flights, so a pickup 90 minutes before departure is usually enough.

Wapping runs along the north bank of the Thames from St Katharine Docks to Shadwell Basin, with converted tea and spice warehouses on Wapping High Street, new riverside apartments, and historic pubs such as the Prospect of Whitby.
Wapping High Street is narrow and cobbled in places. The driver comes to your building entrance, and for gated developments we will ask for access notes.
