By rail it is a short walk to Paddington, the Elizabeth line to Custom House and two stops on the DLR.
By public transport: Walk to Paddington, Elizabeth line to Custom House, then the DLR, about 40–50 min. The catch is a walk to Paddington and a change at Custom House. A car does the whole trip door to door in about 40 min, or 65 min when the roads are full, with your bags in the boot.
Out of Bayswater (W2) the route runs along the Marylebone and Euston Roads, down City Road and through the Limehouse Link. Coming back from London City the driver follows the A13 and Limehouse Link, then City Road and the Euston Road. That is about 12 miles: reckon 40 min off-peak and 65 min when the Euston Road and the City is busy.

Bayswater runs along the north side of Kensington Gardens, from Lancaster Gate to Notting Hill Gate, with Queensway and Westbourne Grove as its busy centre.
