By rail you would go Bromley South (Southeastern and Thameslink) across to Tattenham Corner (National Rail), then a 8-minute walk at the far end. The catch is that the enhanced service runs on feature days only. Door to door by road is about 40 min, or 1h when the roads are full, with no changes, no stairs and no queue at the barrier. Two people with hand luggage should take the train. Three or more, or anyone with a case, and the fixed fare splits better than the tickets do.
