By rail you would go Canary Wharf (the Jubilee line, Elizabeth line and DLR) across to South Kensington (District, Circle and Piccadilly), then a 12-minute walk at the far end. The catch is that it is a pleasant walk in daylight and much less so leaving late. The taxi is about 30 min, or 50 min when the roads are full, but it is one journey rather than three, and nobody stands up for any of it. Two people with hand luggage should take the train. Three or more, or anyone with a case, and the fixed fare splits better than the tickets do.
From the E14 streets the route runs via the A1261 Aspen Way then the A1206, finishing on A4 Cromwell Road, then Exhibition Road. That is about 10.0 miles. Reckon 30 min off-peak and 50 min if you are crossing town at the wrong moment.
