By rail you would go Harrow-on-the-Hill (the Metropolitan line and Chiltern Railways) across to Alexandra Palace (National Rail), then a 20-minute walk at the far end. The catch is that it is a steep uphill walk unless you wait for the shuttle. The taxi is about 30 min, or 55 min when the roads are full, but it is one journey rather than three, and nobody stands up for any of it. If you are travelling light and early, the train usually wins on price. If you are in a group, carrying anything, or leaving after an event, the car wins on everything else.
From the HA1, HA2, HA3, HA5, HA7 streets the route runs via the A404 then the A409 then the A312, finishing on A406 North Circular, then Bounds Green Road. That is about 12.8 miles. Reckon 30 min off-peak and 55 min if you are crossing town at the wrong moment.
Harrow pickups take in all of HA1, HA2, HA3, HA5, HA7. Controlled parking zones and one-way systems are the driver's problem to solve, not yours.
