By rail you would go Romford (the Elizabeth line) across to Charlton (National Rail), then a 6-minute walk at the far end. The catch is that it is a limited service, and weekend engineering works are common. Door to door by road is about 30 min, or 50 min when the roads are full, with no changes, no stairs and no queue at the barrier. It is a fair fight on the way there. On the way back, when several thousand people want the same platform, it stops being one.

If you were thinking of driving yourself: The Valley sits inside a matchday or event-day controlled parking zone, on-site spaces are pre-book only and go early, and the residential streets around it are permit-holders only with active enforcement. Being dropped at the door and collected at an agreed point removes the whole problem.
