From the terminals the driver takes the M4 and A4 into town, then either the Embankment, Limehouse Link and A13, or the A406 North Circular and A13 when the centre is jammed, finishing on the A1020 to the Western Gateway drop-off. On Monday mornings and show build-up days the North Circular option is often faster; the driver picks on the live traffic.
ExCeL's address for drop-off is One Western Gateway, Royal Victoria Dock, London E16 1XL. Drivers do not need the car park (E16 1FR) - you are dropped at the doors.
The Elizabeth line runs from Heathrow towards Abbey Wood through Custom House, the station at ExCeL's west entrance, in about an hour. It is good value for one person with a cabin bag. With a big case, sample kit, a family or a team of colleagues, the door-to-door car is simpler and the fixed fare splits well.
