The driver heads north up the A1 through Holloway, joins the North Circular and follows the M11 to junction 8. It is one of the more direct Stansted runs from central London.
By rail it is the Victoria line from King's Cross to Tottenham Hale and then the Stansted Express. It is only one change, but the Stansted Express can be full with luggage.
By public transport: Victoria line to Tottenham Hale, then the Stansted Express, about 55–70 min. The catch is a change at Tottenham Hale and a busy train with luggage. A car does the whole trip door to door in about 55 min, or 85 min when the roads are full, with your bags in the boot.
Out of King's Cross (N1C / WC1) the route runs north up the A1 through Holloway to the North Circular and the M11. Coming back from Stansted the driver follows the M11 and A406, then the A1 back to King's Cross. That is about 35 miles: reckon 55 min off-peak and 85 min when Holloway Road and Waterworks Corner is busy.
