By public transport: Train to Euston, then the Victoria line to Tottenham Hale and the Stansted Express, about 80–100 min. The catch is a change in London with all your luggage. A car does the whole trip door to door in about 50 min, or 75 min when the roads are full, with your bags in the boot.
Out of Watford (WD17 to WD19 / WD24 / WD25) the route runs onto the M25 and clockwise to junction 27, then up the M11. Coming back from Stansted the driver follows the M11 and the M25 back to Watford. That is about 45 miles: reckon 50 min off-peak and 75 min when the M25 between the A1(M) and the M11 is busy.
