Out of St Albans (AL1 to AL4) the route runs onto the M25 at junction 22 and clockwise to junction 27, then up the M11. Coming back from Stansted the driver follows the M11 and the M25 back to St Albans. That is about 35 miles: reckon 40 min off-peak and 60 min when the M25 between the A1(M) and the M11 is busy.
Stansted has one terminal. Your driver meets you in the arrivals hall with a name board once you have cleared baggage reclaim.
Landing late or early makes no difference: the driver follows the real landing time at Stansted and takes you straight home to St Albans.
