Event & venue transfers
Fixed at £50 from St James's to Eventim Apollo, about 6.6 miles and 20 min on a clear road. The price is locked when you book, not when you travel.
A taxi from St James's to Eventim Apollo is £50 in a saloon, £60 in a 6-seat MPV and £65 in an 8-seater. It is about 6.6 miles and 20 min off-peak, or 40 min in traffic. The fare is fixed at the moment you book and covers tolls, the driver's waiting time and your luggage.
| Vehicle | Capacity | Fixed fare |
|---|---|---|

| MPV | up to 6 passengers, 4 large cases | from £60 |
| 8-seater | up to 7 passengers, 7 large cases | from £65 |
Per vehicle, not per person. Tolls, congestion and crossing charges are already inside the price, and it does not change on the day.
On the network it is Green Park (Jubilee, Piccadilly and Victoria) to Hammersmith (District, Piccadilly and Circle), plus a 3-minute walk at the far end. The catch is that it is genuinely close, so rail is a fair option on this one. A car does the whole thing door to door in about 20 min, or 40 min when the roads are full - and it does it with your bags in the boot. Two people with hand luggage should take the train. Three or more, or anyone with a case, and the fixed fare splits better than the tickets do.
Out of St James's (SW1A, SW1Y) the driver picks up the A4 then the A302, joining A4 Hammersmith flyover, then Queen Caroline Street for the run-in. That is about 6.6 miles. Reckon 20 min off-peak and 40 min if you are crossing town at the wrong moment.
Pickups in St James's land inside the Congestion Charge zone, which is already in the price - and on SW1A, SW1Y the driver will name a legal stopping point rather than idle on a red route.
Queen Caroline Street, on the riverside side of the flyover. The Hammersmith gyratory is one-way and the flyover has no stopping, so drivers come round to Queen Caroline Street. Your driver sends the exact standing point and the registration before they set off, so you are not circling a car park looking for a number plate.
Address: 45 Queen Caroline Street, Hammersmith, W6 9QH.
Parking at Eventim Apollo is limited and the surrounding streets are metered or permit-only, so self-driving usually costs more in time than the fare saves. Being dropped at the door and collected at an agreed point removes the whole problem.
Doors are usually an hour before the show. Working back, that means leaving St James's around 40 min plus that hour on a busy night - and booking the return at the same time, because the road out is slower than the road in.
£50 in a saloon, £60 in a 6-seat MPV and £65 in an 8-seater. That is the fixed price, agreed at booking.
Door to door the car is about 20 min off-peak. The rail alternative is Green Park to Hammersmith plus the walk, which is competitive going out and considerably slower coming back.
Queen Caroline Street, on the riverside side of the flyover. You get the exact point and the registration by text beforehand.
Yes, and it is the leg worth booking. The driver is in position before you come out instead of you joining the queue that forms the moment it ends.
A 6-seat MPV is £60 and an 8-seater £65. Bigger parties travel in several vehicles routed together.
The driver waits. We watch venue finish times rather than working to a fixed clock, so a late curtain does not leave you stranded or cost you extra.
No. The fare is fixed when you book. Traffic, tolls and the hour are our problem, not a line on your bill.
Fares are fixed at booking and shown per vehicle. Distances and journey times are approximate and vary with traffic and the exact pickup address. Page reviewed 7 September 2026.
