The public-transport version starts at Charing Cross (Northern and Bakerloo) and finishes at Hammersmith (District, Piccadilly and Circle), with a 3-minute walk at the far end. The catch is that it is genuinely close, so rail is a fair option on this one. The taxi is about 25 min, or 45 min when the roads are full, but it is one journey rather than three, and nobody stands up for any of it. Two people with hand luggage should take the train. Three or more, or anyone with a case, and the fixed fare splits better than the tickets do.
