By rail you would go Waterloo (Jubilee, Northern, Bakerloo and National Rail) across to South Kensington (District, Circle and Piccadilly), then a 12-minute walk at the far end. The catch is that it is a pleasant walk in daylight and much less so leaving late. Door to door by road is about 20 min, or 30 min when the roads are full, with no changes, no stairs and no queue at the barrier. Two people with hand luggage should take the train. Three or more, or anyone with a case, and the fixed fare splits better than the tickets do.
Out of Waterloo (SE1) the driver picks up the A301 then the A3200, joining A4 Cromwell Road, then Exhibition Road for the run-in. About 4.9 miles in all - 20 min when it flows, 30 min when it does not.
