The driver crosses Putney Bridge, heads through Hammersmith to the A40 and round the North Circular to the M1.
By rail it is Thameslink from Wimbledon into central London, a change for a Luton Airport Parkway train, and the DART to the terminal.
By public transport: Thameslink from Wimbledon, a change in central London, then the DART, about 90–110 min. The catch is a change and the DART shuttle with luggage. A car does the whole trip door to door in about 70 min, or 100 min when the roads are full, with your bags in the boot.
Out of Wimbledon (SW19) the route runs north over Putney Bridge and through Hammersmith to the A40 and the North Circular, then the M1. Coming back from Luton the driver follows the M1 and North Circular, then Hammersmith and Putney Bridge back to Wimbledon. That is about 40 miles: reckon 70 min off-peak and 100 min when Putney Bridge and the North Circular is busy.

Wimbledon runs from the Village on the hill, with its boutiques and large family houses, down to the town centre on The Broadway and the busy station. The All England Club and Wimbledon Park lie to the north, and the Common stretches west towards Putney and Kingston.
During The Championships in late June and early July, roads around the All England Club and Church Road are closed or restricted. We agree a pickup point outside the closure area when you book.
