From Woodford the driver joins the M11 at junction 4 and stays on it all the way to junction 8 beside the airport. It is the quickest airport run in our whole area.
By train it is the Central line to Stratford or Liverpool Street and then the Stansted Express, with a change and luggage.
By public transport: Tube to Tottenham Hale or Liverpool Street, then the Stansted Express, about 70–100 min. The catch is at least one change, and fares add up for a family. A car does the whole trip door to door in about 30 min, or 45 min when the roads are full, with your bags in the boot.
Out of Woodford (IG8 / E18) the route runs straight onto the M11 at junction 4 and north to junction 8. Coming back from Stansted the driver follows M11 south to junction 4 and into Woodford. That is about 24 miles: reckon 30 min off-peak and 45 min when the M11 at junction 4 is busy.
