There are no central London roads between Tottenham and Stansted. The driver heads through Tottenham Hale to the A406 at Waterworks Corner and follows the M11 north to junction 8, right beside the terminal.
The Stansted Express also stops at Tottenham Hale, which suits one traveller with a small bag. For a family with cases and children, one fixed-fare car from your door is far easier, and for larger groups the cost per person gets close to the train.
By public transport: Stansted Express from Tottenham Hale, about 55–80 min door to gate. The catch is a trip to Tottenham Hale first, and walk-up fares add up for a family. A car does the whole trip door to door in about 40 min, or 60 min when the roads are full, with your bags in the boot.
Out of Tottenham (N17) the route runs through Tottenham Hale to the A406 and straight up the M11 to junction 8. Coming back from Stansted the driver follows M11 south to the A406, then Tottenham Hale and the High Road. That is about 31 miles: reckon 40 min off-peak and 60 min when the A406 at Waterworks Corner is busy.
Stansted has one terminal. Your driver meets you in the arrivals hall with a name board once you have cleared baggage reclaim.
