By rail you would go Angel (the Northern line) across to Watford Junction (London Overground and National Rail), then a connecting bus at the far end. The catch is that the shuttle bus from the station only runs to tour times, so one missed connection is a missed slot. A car does the whole thing door to door in about 50 min, or 1h 15m when the roads are full - and it does it with your bags in the boot. If you are travelling light and early, the train usually wins on price. If you are in a group, carrying anything, or leaving after an event, the car wins on everything else.
From the N1 streets the route runs via the A1 Upper Street then the A501, finishing on M1 J6 or M25 J21a, then A4008 and Studio Tour Drive. Roughly 24.1 miles, and the timing swings with the hour rather than the route: 50 min clear, 1h 15m loaded.
Angel is dense, one-way and camera-enforced. The driver texts a workable standing point in N1 instead of guessing, which is the difference between a two-minute wait and a fine.

Warner Bros. Studio Tour London has its own car park, but it fills from mid-morning in school holidays and at weekends, and the approach road backs up before the barrier does. Being dropped at the door and collected at an agreed point removes the whole problem.
