On the network it is King's Cross St Pancras (six Tube lines plus LNER, Thameslink and Eurostar) to Fulham Broadway (the District line), plus a 8-minute walk at the far end. The catch is that the station is one-in-one-out after big games. A car does the whole thing door to door in about 25 min, or 40 min when the roads are full - and it does it with your bags in the boot. It is a fair fight on the way there. On the way back, when several thousand people want the same platform, it stops being one.
The usual line from King's Cross is the A501 then the A5200, then A4 Talgarth Road, then Fulham Road at the end. That is about 7.6 miles. Reckon 25 min off-peak and 40 min if you are crossing town at the wrong moment.

If you were thinking of driving yourself: Stamford Bridge sits inside a matchday or event-day controlled parking zone, on-site spaces are pre-book only and go early, and the residential streets around it are permit-holders only with active enforcement. Pre-booked both ways, none of that is your problem.
