By rail you would go King's Cross St Pancras (six Tube lines plus LNER, Thameslink and Eurostar) across to Wembley Park (Metropolitan and Jubilee), then a 12-minute walk at the far end. The catch is that Olympic Way is queue-managed after full time and the walk is uphill. The taxi is about 30 min, or 50 min when the roads are full, but it is one journey rather than three, and nobody stands up for any of it. If you are travelling light and early, the train usually wins on price. If you are in a group, carrying anything, or leaving after an event, the car wins on everything else.
The usual line from King's Cross is the A501 then the A5200, then A406 North Circular, then Harrow Road and South Way at the end. That is about 10.2 miles. Reckon 30 min off-peak and 50 min if you are crossing town at the wrong moment.
In King's Cross the pavement outside your door is often the one place a car cannot stop. We agree the point in N1C, N1, WC1X up front and the driver is on it, not circling.
Green Car Park off South Way is the usual private hire point; on full-house events pickup moves to Rutherford Way or Fifth Way. Olympic Way (Wembley Way) is pedestrianised for two hours after full time, so allow for a short walk to the car. Your driver sends the exact standing point and the registration before they set off, so you are not circling a car park looking for a number plate.

If you were thinking of driving yourself: Wembley Stadium sits inside a matchday or event-day controlled parking zone, on-site spaces are pre-book only and go early, and the residential streets around it are permit-holders only with active enforcement. Pre-booked both ways, none of that is your problem.
Doors are usually an hour before the match. Working back, that means leaving King's Cross around 50 min plus that hour on a busy night - and booking the return at the same time, because the road out is slower than the road in.
