By rail you take the Bakerloo line from Warwick Avenue or Maida Vale to Paddington and then the Heathrow Express or Elizabeth line. It is quick, but the Bakerloo line platforms at Paddington are a long way from the Heathrow trains.
By car the driver goes down to Paddington Green and straight onto the A40 Westway, then out to the airport on the A312 or M4.
By public transport: Bakerloo line to Paddington, then the Heathrow Express or Elizabeth line, about 35–50 min. The catch is a long walk between platforms at Paddington. A car does the whole trip door to door in about 35 min, or 60 min when the roads are full, with your bags in the boot.
Out of Maida Vale (W9) the route runs down to Paddington Green and out along the A40 Westway, then the A312 or M4. Coming back from Heathrow the driver follows the M4 or A312 and the A40 Westway back to W9. That is about 14 miles: reckon 35 min off-peak and 60 min when the Westway and Hanger Lane is busy.

Maida Vale is a quiet residential area of wide avenues and red-brick mansion blocks running north from Little Venice and the Regent's Canal. Elgin Avenue, Randolph Avenue and Sutherland Avenue are lined with flats, and there are small shops on Clifton Road and Formosa Street.
