By rail you take the Jubilee line from St John's Wood to Bond Street and change to the Elizabeth line for Heathrow. It is a fair option for one traveller, but Bond Street is a deep station with long passages.
By car the driver goes through Maida Vale to the Westway, then out on the A40 and the A312 or M4. Your cases go in the boot at the door.

Coming back from Heathrow the driver follows the M4 or A312 and the A40 Westway back to NW8. That is about 15 miles: reckon 35 min off-peak and 65 min when the Westway and Hanger Lane is busy.
