The public-transport version starts at Pimlico (the Victoria line) and finishes at Kensington (Olympia) (District and the Overground), with a 2-minute walk at the far end. The catch is that the District service to Olympia is sparse outside event days. A car does the whole thing door to door in about 20 min, or 35 min when the roads are full - and it does it with your bags in the boot. If you are travelling light and early, the train usually wins on price. If you are in a group, carrying anything, or leaving after an event, the car wins on everything else.
